Ki Exercises

Friday classes are focusing more on ki flow exercises. It's almost like qi gong.

Sensei has taught various elements of Qi Gong over the last 1 1/2 years I have been here. This is usually in the context of an Aikido class, typically during the warmups, though in this particular class, we practiced in detail, a spiraling motion from katatetori (moving energy from the center to outside of the line of attack).

As I said previously, I don't consider myself adept at this stuff yet. It is also different than what one would get from taking specialized Qi Gong or Tai Chi classes, but ki is ki, so there is a lot of commonality. Very useful I think.

I have taken Aikido at other dojos years ago, so you could say I have had some ki exercises from a long time ago.
